We’ve received a number of questions about so-called “Pandemic Editing”, so to clarify what it is and how it works, we offer the following Q&A:

Q: What is Pandemic Editing?

A: “Pandemic Editing” is a timely (if unfortunate) term for a regular video service most production companies – us included – have long offered.  Basically it involves working with client-generated video as opposed to professionally shot footage.  Covid-19 has made such material more prevalent than ever before.

Q:  So you take video footage I have shot and edit it?  Isn’t that something I can do myself?

A:  Perhaps, but our production company likely has better tools to accomplish things like color correction, image stabilization, graphics handling, audio enhancement, and more.  Plus we can seamlessly integrate your support materials (PowerPoint slides, for example) as well as logos and other branding.  The idea is to do everything possible to raise the overall quality of the finished piece to the highest achievable level.

Q:  How can I shoot my own video?  What formats can you use?

A:  We can work with just about anything you provide.  If you have a video camera, that’s great, but we can use content shot with your laptop camera, your iPad, your phone – whatever you’ve got.  We can even use screen capture video from a Zoom session.

Q:  How do I send the video and other materials to you?

A:  Dropbox is our preferred method, but we we’re flexible.

That’s Pandemic Editing in a nutshell.  For more information and to discuss your particular project, please feel free to contact us.
